To coincide with the Olympic torch rally in New Delhi, around 105 students and 220 general public participated in the Black Torch Rally organized, marching from Tibetan day school to the temple. Later mass prayer was also organized to pay homage to all those Tibetan martyrs who lost their life in the recent killings in Tibet.

24 hour relay Fasting in Solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet:

The relay fasting continues peacefully without any untoward incident. On Saturday, 71 new participants took over the 21st day of the relay fasting. Some participants had just shown up at the fasting site without prior registration – probably because there were no protests outside the Chinese embassy. Similarly, on Sunday, May 4, another 64 new participants took over the relay fasting - of whom two were non-Tibetans, an American girl and a Spanish woman. Chithue Gyalnor Tsewang la addressed both these groups on Saturday and Sunday.

24 hour Relay Fasting in Solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet:

71 participants took over the hunger strike into its 23rd day. Some of the participants were participating for the 4th or 5th time. Chithue Gyalnor Tsewang la addressed the participants.
 
Laka Rinpoche visited Baudha Welfare Office:

Laka Rinpoche from Denmark visited the prayer congregation with a Danish TV crew. He met with the present chithues and the chief coordinator of Nepal. Later he addressed the prayer congregation to say a few words.
 
Arrests and Injuries:

It has been reported that 183 Tibetans (mostly monks and nuns) were arrested today outside the Chinese embassy. 5 people (3monks and 2 nuns) had been detained at the Durbar Marg police station while the others were at Maharajganj Barrack 2.  About 10 people had to be taken to Om Hospital due to severe beatings. One monk had broken his index finger and had been taken into the operation room. He is now under 24 hour observation in ICU. Rests of the injured have been returned. All the detained Tibetans were released at 9PM. As usual, meals, medical care, and transportation to return home have been handled and arranged by NTSF assigned special task forces.

Uttarkhand and Uttar Pradesh -

50 Tibetans from Dehradun, capital city of Uttarkhand, observed 24 hrs indefinite hunger strikes for 34 days, starting March 26, 2008.
 
The Regional chapter of Tibetan Solidarity Committee in Uttarkhand continues to observe the indefinite 24 hrs hunger strike. Activities from April 29 to May 5, 2008 were able to make highlight in local press, Medias and newspapers. No ailment was reported so far amongst the observers.
