Marking one month of non-violent protest inside Tibet, the Tibetan Solidarity Committee-Delhi chapter will organize a press conference addressed by the Kalon Tripa (Prime Minister in exile), Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche at 12 PM sharp on April 10th at Jantar Mantar.
The Program for the day will begin at 10.30 AM with prayers for all the Tibetans killed while participating in non-violent protests in Tibet. All the participants of the Freedom march (started in Dharamsala on 10th March and reached Delhi on 9th April) will gather to receive a warm reception at Jantar Mantar.
There will be a short presentation to stage world opinion on Tibet during which statements of important world leaders will be read out. A mock funeral to depict and mourn the people killed under the brutal Chinese crackdown will be played out. In the evening at 6 PM, there will be a street play entitled "where is India in the Tibetan crisis?" performed at the Central Park in Connaught Place.

Delhi -

Delhi Commemorates One-month Anniversary of non-violent Protests inside Tibet
Over 3,500 Tibetans gathered in the capital today (April 10) to mark one-month anniversary of non-violent protest inside Tibet. Tibetans from neighboring states of Uttarakand, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh joined members of the Tibetan community in Delhi.
The day started with the reception of the 200 Tibetan freedom marchers who arrived in Delhi on April 9 after a month long march from Dharamsala. Following the reception, prayers were offered on behalf of all the Tibetans killed under the Chinese crackdown.

Opinions of eminent world leaders were staged with facemasks of the respective leaders. A mock funeral to depict and mourn the people killed under the brutal Chinese crackdown was also presented.
At 12 noon, Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche presided over a question and answer session with the press. A large number of presses had gathered for the occasion.  After the press conference, Prof. Rinpoche addressed the public and emphasized on the significance of non-violent action and the need for an enduring movement that goes beyond Olympics.
Prof. Rinpoche flagged off the freedom bicycle rally that started from Jantar mantar at 1PM and covered the whole of South Delhi. Most of the participants of the bicycle rally were students of Tibetan Children's Village from Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh and Bylakuppe in Karnataka.

Ladakh -

His eminence Taglug Tsetral Rinpoche offered special prayers on March 13, 2008 for all those Tibetan martyrs who have sacrificed their precious life for the cause of Tibet and all those who are injured or languishing in various prisons in Tibet.  
Considering the urgent situation in Tibet, group of 17 young men and women took protest to the street and walked for 80 kilometers to express their solidarity and concern on April 4, 2008. Subsequently, they peaceful 17 demonstrators were arrested and released 48 hours afterwards. They then stood on a hunger strike for 4 days.  
Almost everyone in Ladakh is gravely concerned about the situation inside Tibet and have been religiously protesting and praying. In addition, many shops are remained closed in mourning and raising prayer flags to bring a fast solution to the crisis.

Mumbai -
The first day of 3 days series of prayer meetings, candlelight vigils and march in Mumbai had about 2000 Tibetans with over 1000 Tibetan monks, along with other Indian supporters, friends and human rights NGO's started today with peace procession at 9 AM from Azad Maidan to Girguam Chowpaty. 
This is first time where huge of Tibetan monks and lay people ever held a peace procession in the heart Mumbai. The procession carried on for 2 hours where vivid images of the recent killings and tortured in Tibet were displayed with chanting of prayers in the backdrop. 
Well-known media came to cover on the Solidarity Committee's actions. Mrs. Gyari Dolma gave interview with different presses and media about the aim and objective of the procession and conveyed the present situation inside the Tibet. 
The peace procession was concluded in Girguam Chowpaty, with brief speech by Mrs. Gyari Dolma (Dy. Speaker of Tibetan Government in Exile) and Mr. C.A. Kallianpur (National Co-coordinator, Friends of Tibet). He stated that, “Tibetan has to keep their spirit high and we all are with you”.

The day ended with prayers for the deceased in Tibet and singing of the Tibetan National Anthem.
